Important Information regarding NTI at Woodland!

Dear Woodland Families,

Today is the first day of Non Traditional Instruction (NTI) in response to the Kenton County School District's public health and safety measures related to COVID-19.  This is a new process for all of us here in the KCSD, and I would like to thank you for your patience as we get everything up and running for the very first time.

First, I would like to make you aware that your child's teachers are all standing by daily between 10:00 am and 2:00 p.m. M-F.  Your child can email them any time they need help with their work.  You may refer to our school webpage to find contact information for all staff members. Additionally, you may call our school phone number and messages will be forwarded to the teachers. Many of them have set up their personal phones to forward calls directly to them. Others are calling in and checking messages daily. Someone will be back in touch with you as soon as possible.

Next, please know that all the lessons for Days 1 and 2 of NTI are currently linked to our District and School webpages. Just look for the NTI Lessons link.  Many teachers have or will use Google Classroom, and their classroom codes are posted. For those students who are unable to use technology, we currently have copies of lessons for Days 1 and 2  in our school vestibule. We will have Days 3 and 4 available tomorrow both in hard copy at school and online.

Starting next Thursday, Mar. 26 we will no longer offer hard copies at school. We are in the process of identifying students who need hard copies and/or food, which will be delivered in 5 day increments every Thursday on our school buses. Your child's homeroom teacher will be calling to determine your students' needs. The call may show Unknown Caller if they are using our call forwarding service, so please take the call. It will help us get your children what they need.

We have developed a schedule that will ensure that your child has access to each one of his or her teachers every day, with lesson presentations, tutoring, addressing questions, and just connecting. You may access the Woodland NTI Daily Schedule by clicking on this link:

If you are unable to access the link, simply copy and paste it into your browser.

To turn in completed work, there are multiple options. Work on Google Classrooms is turned in electronically. Hard copies may be photgraphed and emailed to the teacher, dropped off at school in person, or it may even be turned in at the end of our NTI period. We are flexible and are willing to work with you to make sure that your child's completed work is turned in to their teachers. Just reach out to your teacher and discuss your options.

Please be sure that all your contact information is up to date in Infinite Campus-including phone numbers and emails. You can make those changes yourself in the Parent Portal, or you can call the school and we will help.

Due to the fact that we have sent many of our staff members home to telecommute and enforce social distancing, our office hours have been reduced to 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you are unable to reach us outside those hours, please call or email and someone will respond within 24 business hours.

I will update you regularly as more information becomes available. Currently NTI is scheduled to run until Apr. 17, with students returning to school Apr. 20.  The NTI work will be graded, and we will be introducing new content, so it is vitally important that your child participates. We miss the students, and look forward to the day we all return to school. In the meantime, please stay healthy, observe Social Distancing, and self-quarantine if you are sick. We will get through this together!

Thank you for your support,
