Letter from Mrs. Simms

If you have been at Kenton for three days or for several years, you are mine.  If I have hugged you in the hallway or simply shared a smile here or there, you are mine.  This Kenton Elementary family will always have such a large piece of my heart.  I have fallen in love again and again with our families and these precious kids we are trusted with.  I will be taking each of you with me in a sense, carrying your encouragement, your smiles, your support.  I will be taking this with me as I go…  It is with a very content but also a very heavy heart that I share I will be leaving my role as Family Resource Coordinator this summer at the end of June.

This is a job that I love, I have been so blessed to be able to call something like this “work”.  Where I get to build relationships with such beautiful people.   So please believe me when I say – I know this is my time to walk in another direction, otherwise there is no way I could leave.  I also know I am not leaving anything behind, I am only walking forward to what God has in store for me.

I hope that I have served Kenton well, for it has definitely served me well.  I have been so blessed to watch kids and families grow, to walk alongside them and see them become who they are.  The word thankful doesn’t begin to touch it.

I don’t have enough words, so I will end here.  Just please know, Mrs. Simms is so thankful and so blessed and LOVES you all very much.

Someone new will be stepping into my role and I am confident this person will be a perfect fit.  I am already praying that a new person will bring new energy and new life to the FRC which will greatly bless the Kenton Elementary family!  I know you will offer support and kindness just as you have to me!

Melody Simms
