Mr. Chris Bryson is the College and Career Coordinator, and a mathematics teacher, for the Kenton County Academies of Innovation and Technology. In his five-plus years with the Academies, he has completed his Master of Arts in Teaching degree, and helped start the Engineering and Women’s Engineering Academy programs. He also holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Mathematics and Philosophy, an Associate in Arts degree in Drama, and a Master of Business Administration degree. Mr. Bryson has taught “Algebra I,” “Geometry,” “Algebra 2,” and “Honors Pre-calculus.” Currently, he teaches a “Business Education Internship” course for seniors, which includes experiential learning at businesses and organizations throughout the Greater Cincinnati Area. He is a Google Level 1 certified educator and is also certified to teach AP Calculus AB and PLTW Civil Engineering & Architecture.
Although he has been with the Academies since the Fall of 2012, Mr. Bryson also teaches decision science at Thomas More College and was awarded the Outstanding Teacher Award for 2013. He is currently in his thirteenth academic year of teaching at his collegiate alma mater. His instructional strength lies in the way he embraces coaching in the classroom and develops rapport with his students through energetic and scholarly encouragement. Performance tasks in his engineering mathematics classroom have included robotics competitions, mathematics chalk talks, and bell ringer presentations. Mr. Bryson has helped form community partnerships for his scholars with the Northern Kentucky Industrial Partnership, UpTech, Gateway Community and Technical College, and the Northern Kentucky chapter of KYFAME.
In his spare time, you can find Mr. Bryson under water, as he is a Certified Open Water SCUBA Diver. He is also an intense fan of Major League Baseball, as he is a Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Camp alumnus.
