School Report Card


All students receive an integrated Health and Physical Education here at Ft. Wright Elementary.  Each lesson is based upon the Common Core Standards for Health and PE.  Lessons in Health include nutrition, diseases, personal safety, and the benefits of exercise.  Lessons in Physical Education include various types of movement, movement in different games and activities, physical fitness, aerobics, catching, throwing, and kicking.  Competition and how to handle competition, teamwork, leadership, and helping others are just some of the life skills that are taught throughout the year.  Each teacher takes their class to recess each day, however physical activity is also alive in the classroom through “Brain Breaks” and GoNoodle.

Hip Hop dance class and Ballet are offered as an after school physical activity.  Also, our school participates in the county basketball program for fourth and fifth grade girls and boys as well as opportunities for golf, bowling, and volleyball.



Students at FWE receive instruction in business, family consumer services, health science, marketing, media arts, and STEM throughout the school year. This occurs not only in their homeroom, but also in PE, library, computer lab, guidance counseling, and career day. Lessons focus on economics, banking, home economics, advertising, coding, 3D printing, digital citizenship, and engineering.
