A message for Team Kenton,
As we build a community of stronger more compassionate learners, it is critical to teach responsible digital citizenship. Students, parents, staff and community members are encouraged to report any threatening or harmful social media posts because the Kenton County School District takes all reports very seriously. The district works with local law enforcement to investigate each incident as safety is our priority. Open communication is important and students need to understand the school-level consequences and legal ramifications for inducing panic, falsely accusing, terroristic threatening, and disorderly conduct. If there are concerns, make those reports to administration or law enforcement. Do NOT post warnings on social media accounts that could have long-term consequences both personally and professionally. Technology is a wonderful tool if used correctly and the way it was intended by design. Let’s remember to be kind and thoughtful before we leave our digital footprints on society. As a staff, as parents and community members let’s continue this ongoing dialogue as we work together for a world-class education.
