America is hurting! While there are some incredibly beautiful places in our country the true beauty in our country is our amazing people. The diverse population that makes up our country, our commonwealth, our region and our county is to be celebrated. While we have made progress, recent events in our country clearly identify that as a society we still have a lot of work to do to ensure every person is treated equitably and is valued. The Kenton County School District remains committed to ensuring equity and inclusion for our students, employees, families and community members. The Kenton County School District partners with Make It Plain Consulting to build a more equitable and inclusive community. We have developed a three year plan with Make It Plain and completed year one of the plan in 2019-2020. Our district is proactive with high quality professional development around inclusion and diversity. All members of Team Kenton are valued and their voice is respected as an important contribution to the district. The KCSD is proud to release a joint statement with Make It Plain as we work together to make this a community of stronger, more compassionate learners.” - Dr. Henry Webb, Superintendent of Kenton County Schools
“The work of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is the work of the entire community. Why is EDI important? EDI ensures that every member of our community is valued, respected, and appreciated as key contributors to the community. From our health care providers, to our law enforcement officers, to our educators, students and families, the work of equity touches us all. The Kenton County School District prepares students to be leaders in business, in the community and in life. Equity, diversity and inclusion is a step forward in achieving this goal. Make It Plain is proud to be a valued partner committed to working with KCSD to create a more equitable and inclusive community.” - Tommie Lewis, President and CEO of Make It Plain Consulting, LLC.
