Head Start is Growing in Kenton County School District!

head start

Head Start is a federally funded program serving eligible families of 3 and 4 year old children.  In KCSD we are now offering 3 full day classrooms – 2 at Ft Wright Elementary and 1 at Taylor Mill Elementary – with a total capacity of nearly 60 children!  Our goal in collaborating with Head Start is to be able to reach more families and support early childhood development and Kindergarten Readiness.  Head Start children and their families can count on these services:

  • Individual teaching and educational opportunities
  • Speech, language and hearing screening
  • Health care promotion
  • Social services
  • Mental health services
  • Services for children with special needs
  • Nutritious snacks and meals
  • Vision/Dental screenings
  • Parent involvement opportunities
  • Leadership development and training opportunities
  • Kindergarten readiness

Access the Head Start website for more information and to apply:  https://www.nkcac.org/services/head-start/
