Meet The Teacher & Class Mission This is my 23rd year teaching, all of which have been at FWE! In the past, I have taught 1 year of kindergarten and Reading Intervention, 7 years of fifth grade, 12 years of 1st grade, and this is my 3rd year teaching 2nd grade. I graduated from NKU with my bachelor degree in 1998 and then received my master's degree also from NKU specializing in reading and writing. My husband and I are the proud parents of our 2 boys. Our oldest is in graduate school and our youngest is an undergrad in college. We spend family time playing board/card games, dinners out, vacations, movie nights, and various other activities!
My mission for the my students is to have all of them at or above grade level in all subject areas, the students will be independent readers, and all students will be able to add and subtract independently. I also want to instill a love of learning and school in each child. It is just as important to love what you are learning as it is to be learning. Children learn more when they enjoy what they are doing and when they are able to help other friends in the classroom with their learning. I expect each student to treat everyone the way they wish to be treated. I expect each student to give 100% each day and soak in all the learning they can. I expect children to get their planners signed nightly, and complete their daily reading. In return, I promise to give your children 110% of myself, teach them as much as possible each and every day in a fun way, and teach them to LOVE school!
