One to One Volunteers Needed

Do you want to change a child’s life and make a meaningful contribution to our school?

Become a volunteer Reading Coach!

One to One: Practicing Reading with Students invite Ryland Heights Elementary parents, grandparents, caregivers and community volunteers to play an integral role in helping struggling young readers with the support they need to be successful in reading.  Each volunteer “reading coach” will commit to meet with a 1st-3rd grade student just 35 minutes per week during the 2013-14 academic year.  Coaches provide children with the time, attention, and the opportunity to practice reading which will make a difference in their lives.  One to One requires new coaches to complete six hours of training in September 2013 and complete a background check.

To obtain additional information on One to One, please visit the Northern Kentucky Education Council’s website at www.nkyec.org.  If you’d like to be contacted when specific training dates and locations are confirmed, please contact Nancy Costello at the Council, ncostello@nkyec.org or (859)282-9214.

Thank you for your willingness to make a difference and support our school’s strong commitment to education!
