KCSD honors outstanding teachers

The Kenton County School District honored some of our outstanding teachers during our first 'Excellence is Everywhere' banquet on Nov. 5.

Transportation Changes

With the large number of activities that we have taking place after school, it is important that we have written documentation of any transportation changes being made with your child. This includes the 21st CCLC program. Please send a dated, written note documenting any changes to your child’s usual transportation on a separate piece of paper to be filed in the office.  This will avoid confusion at the end of the day.  We appreciate your help with this.

Piner Elementary-A Distinguished Kentucky School

The results are in: Piner Elementary has placed in the 95th percentile of all elementary schools in Kentucky on the 2014-15 KPREP test, and has been named a School of Distinction! We are very proud of how hard our students have worked to earn this incredible designation. Students and staff will celebrate on Monday, October 5 with Rock Star Day-since we "Rocked" the KPREP!  Everyone may dress up as a rock star, and we will make the official announcement of our school performance level to our students at a 9:00 a.m. assembly. Parents and family members are welcome to join us for this exciting event! Students who scored proficient, distinguished or showed growth on the KPREP test will receive individual medals later this year at our fabulous Pawscars event. But for now, please join us in celebrating our success at becoming one of the top 20 public elementary schools in the state!

The Seven Habits

Has your child mentioned The Seven Habits to you? Just in case you are wondering, last year we introduced The Seven Habits of Happy Kids to our students based upon Steven Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.

The Seven Habits are:
1.  Be Proactive
2.  Begin with the End in Mind
3.  Put First Things First
4.  Think Win-Win
5.  Seek First to Understand, Then to Be    Understood
6.  Synergize
7.  Sharpen the Saw
