After months of planning, collecting various items, and fund raising over $400, the Leadership Students of Woodland Middle School, under the guidance of Karla Thompson – 4-H agent, Sandy Arnold – Parent Volunteer, and the school’s Youth Service Center assembled 37 care packages that will be shipped to military personnel stationed in Afghanistan. In December, the same group of students sent 122 Christmas cards to the troops. The troops were so appreciative of the Christmas cards, we received thank you notes for the seemingly simple gesture.
Sixth Grader, Brooke Thornsburg, said of the experience, “It’s amazing how great it feels to give back!”
