SK's Casey Cornett wins state wrestling championship

Congratulations to Simon Kenton's Casey Cornett, who again won the KHSAA state wrestling championship in his class.

The Kenton County School District was well represented at the state tournament. Simon Kenton finished in 6th place overall, with Elijah Jackson finishing in 2nd place, Dante Castellano in 3rd place and Migdoel Ocasio in 7th place.

Dixie Heights finished in 10th place. They were led by Austin Nixon, who finished 4th, Jake Peters, who finished 5th, and Kairus Washington, who finished 2nd.

Scott placed 18th overall, with Brendan Rye earning 3rd place.

Cornett was also awarded Most Outstanding Wrestler and most pins in the least amount of time.
