Kindergarten Registration is Feb. 9

Kindergarten Registration will be Thursday, Feb. 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. at all Kenton County elementary schools. Students must be turning 5 by August 1, 2017. 

Dixie Art Students win Regional Scholastic Art Awards

Results from the Regional Scholastic Art Awards are out, and Dixie Heights High School students have won several awards.

UpSpring Summer Employment Opportunities

After a wildly successful first year, the Kenton County School District is continuing our work with UpSpring to provide a summer camp for our students who are homeless.   The camp is a healthy mix of academics and new experiences for students.  This will not only be a great summer job but an awesome opportunity for our staff members to continue making a difference this summer.  

KCSD Superintendent to build school in Dominican Republic Superintendent Dr. Terri Cox-Cruey

Terri Cox-Cruey, Ed. D, Kenton County School District Superintendent, will travel with Lifetouch Memory Mission® to build a school in the Dominican Republic January 16–24, 2017. The school will be built for the children and families in a small, mountainous farming community.

Across the state this month, local school board members, including those in the Kenton County school district, will be saluted by their administrators, faculty, staff, students and community members during Kentucky’s observation of School Board Recognition Month

KCSD Inclement Weather Policy

The winter can be challenging to our instructional rhythm and overall school operations. It is particularly frustrating when events, scheduled well in advance, have to be canceled or postponed. While scheduling and rescheduling events during inclement weather is challenging, our current policy is to work with each school based on their circumstances to make sure the activity takes place for our students. Positive, proactive communication is necessary for all participants as we work together to disseminate information district-wide. I want to take this time to review how decisions are made when weather takes precedent.
